e-wallpaper: Process 8

Next I want to add a speech bubble to the MMU bee image. The steps are:

Click on custom shape tool>Shape>talk 1

Since the speech bubble is not facing the MMU bee;
Go to Edit>Transform Path>Flip Horizontal

I also change it's opacity to 55% and adding inner shadow and stroke effects by using blending options

To add text to the speech bubble shape:

Click on Horizontal type tool>place it on the speech bubble shape>type:DON'T MISS IT!
Font: Tahoma>Bold>27.25pt>smooth>red color

The last part is to add details off the event...

First make the rounded square shape to place the details
Click on Custom shape tool>shape>rounded square> opacity change to 75%

Right click on layer>blending options>gradient overlay & stroke

Finally adding the details
Click on the horizontal type tool>place it on the rounded square>type in the details
Font:Tahoma>Bold>25pt>smooth>red & dark red color

The FOM Open Day e-wallpaper is done....

e-wallpaper: Process 7

What I am going to do now is add a white rectangular shape at the bottom page of my wallpaper
First, I switch the foreground and background colors, by setting the foreground white and background black

Then, I click on the rectangle tool>draw the rectangle shape at the bottom page of the wallpaper
Select layer>Ctrl + T>adjust/resize the rectangle shape>enter

The white rectangle shape done....

Next I would like to add the TM logo and MMU logo on the white rectangle shape

Since Adobe Photoshop can open multiple files, I open both the TM & MMU logo
File>Open>mmu logo.jpg
File>Open> tm.jpg

Drag the MMU logo and TM logo into the wallpaper
Select layer> Ctrl+ T>resize the logo>enter
Done...

e-wallpaper: Process 6

Now we've come to the main part, the FOM building.
Open the FOM image file:File>open>fom.jpg
To insert the picture into the wallpaper: right click on the layer>duplicate layer.

The duplicate layer dialog box appears>choose the destination where the wallpaper is

I don't want the sky, so I use the magic wand tool>click the sky>delete

After that, as before, I add effects by using the blending options

The same steps are taken for MMU bee image: open image>duplicate image>magic wand(to delete the white background)>blending options(for effects)
To flip the MMU bee:
Go to edit>transform>flip horizontal

Next thing is to add shapes to the wallpaper: click on custom shape tool>shape>choose the bird shape>change opacity to 45%

To resize the shape: Hold down Ctrl + T. A bounding box appears, position the pointer directly on one of the corner handles & drag to increase/reduce the size

I want to make a copy of the bird shape; so right click on the bird shape layer>duplicate image>Ctrl +T (resize shape)

e-wallpaper: Process 5

Now I will add some text to my wallpaper.

Click on the Horizontal type tool>choose Trajan Pro as my font>make it Bold & 45pt>place it above the line shape>key in FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT.

Add effects: right click on the layer> blending options>drop shadow & outer glow

For the OPEN DAY 2011 text, the step is similar with the 1st step, except the text is placed between the line shapes.

To add the same effects for OPEN DAY 2011 text, click on FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT text layer>right click>copy layer style.

After that, click on the OPEN DAY 2011 text layer>right click>paste layer style

The outcome:

e-wallpaper: Process 4

Now I would like to add gradient effect. First I go to the layer tab>New Fill Layer>Gradient

Next, I choose the gradient style I wanted, make the angle 101.31, and change the opacity to 85%

Now I will add a line shape to my wallpaper. Go to tool pallet>click on custom shape tool>choose line tool.

After drawing the line I adjust its length, thickness, and add drop shadow and outer glow effects. The effects are done by right clicking on the layer>choose blending options>click drop shadow & outer glow

Then, I copied the line by holding down the Shift + Alt, and drag a copy of the line to the right side of my wallpaper

e-wallpaper: Process 3

Click on the background layer>press new layer icon.
This is to create a new and blank layer above the background layer.

Go to edit tab>fill or shift+F5

I choose the color blue for the layer

I change the opacity of layer 1(rename it as background 2) to 50% and the new fill layer to 77%, and add layer mask to layer 1. This is the outcome:

The next step is to insert a background layer I've taken from the internet. The steps are:

Minimize the first window. Go to File>open>4334973871_b233c83527.jpg

Go to Image tab>Rotate canvas>90 CCW

Then I would like to get rid of the butterfly pic
At the tools pallete on the left click clone stamp tool>choose the right brush>Alt>click to sample part/image wanted

Here's the outcome. Then press ctrl>A to select the background. Edit tab>Copy and paste in the 1st window.

e-wallpaper: Process 1

First go to File>New to create a new file

Go to Preset>A4 and click ok

A potrait paper is created, but I want it to be lansdcape
So, go to Image tab>rotate canvas>90CW

Here's the landscape canvas I wanted
